To provide a rapid and professional response to water emergencies, utilizing specialized skills and equipment to locate, rescue, and recover individuals in distress on or under water, while prioritizing the safety of both the PCWRT and those in need, including aspects of water safety education and community outreach to Portage County and surrounding communities.

WHAT IS PCWRT?
The Portage County Water Rescue Team is a dedicated group of trained volunteers committed to protecting lives in and around the water. From swift currents to frozen lakes, floods to recoveries, our team stands ready to respond whenever and wherever we’re needed.
We work side by side with local fire, police, and emergency services to bring skill, courage, and compassion to every mission. Beyond rescue, we also believe in prevention, sharing knowledge and promoting water safety throughout our community.
Our strength comes not only from our training and equipment, but from our unwavering commitment to service. Every call answered is guided by the same purpose: to safeguard lives, support families, and serve our community with honor.
