2008 Shore Support Class

         

 

The Portage County Water Rescue Team, Dive Rescue International and the Ravenna Township Fire Department are proud to sponsor and announce SHORE SUPPORT Instructed by Scott Simmons.

 

This is the introduction class that any personnel that are interested in underwater rescue will need.  This would also be a good class for any department that might deal with a water rescue team; each department should consider sending at least one representative to be a liaison.  This Shore Support class will give you the basic knowledge and skills in the following areas.

 
1) Diving theories
2) Equipment
3) Underwater Physiology
4) Underwater Physics
5) Witness interviewing
6) Diver / Line Tending
7) Search patterns and techniques
8) On scene Professionalism
 

We will be going to a local lake for the afternoon session to have hands on training, please bring a PFD (life Jacket) if you have one.
